The key to successful peony cut flower vase care lies in temperature control, antibacterial measures, and promoting water absorption. Following these steps can significantly extend the flowering period: Key Care Steps

Deep Water Revitalization: If the flower heads are drooping, remove the packaging, leaving the leaves intact. Immerse the bottom of the flower stem in deep water for 3-4 hours to quickly restore vitality. If the buds are full, they can be placed directly in the vase without prolonged revitalization.

Cutting Treatment: Cut the bottom of the flower stem at a 45-degree angle in water to increase the water absorption area. Because peony stems are highly lignified, the cut end can be charred with fire or immersed in hot water above 80℃ for 2 minutes to sterilize and seal the sap, then quickly transfer to cold water. This method is particularly effective for peonies with woody stems.

Water Level and Quality: Use clean tap water. The water level should be maintained at 1/3 to 1/2 of the vase to avoid excessive water level, which can cause stem rot. Clean the vase walls of any sap after each water change. Adding Preservatives: Add a special flower preservative to the water, or a small amount of white sugar + a few drops of 84 disinfectant/aspirin. Do not mix multiple chemical agents.
Environmental Management

Temperature Control: Place in a cool, well-ventilated area, ideally at 15-20℃, away from air conditioner vents, heaters, and direct sunlight.

Keep Away from Ethylene Sources: Do not place with ripe fruits (such as apples and bananas), as the ethylene released by the fruit will accelerate petal drop and aging.

Regular Maintenance: Change the water every 1-2 days in summer, and every 2-3 days in spring and autumn. When changing the water, trim the roots 2-3cm and promptly remove any leaves submerged in water to prevent rotting and bacterial growth.

Precautions: Peonies bloom quickly. If the buds are already half-open, it is recommended to reduce the frequency of water changes to avoid disturbing them, and focus on keeping the environment cool.

If blackening or gray mold symptoms are found on the petal edges, remove the affected flower immediately to prevent the spread to other flowers.
