Coral Sunset Peony

The Coral Sunset Peony is renowned for its unique color shifts, with its flowers graduating from vibrant orange-red to yellow, vividly simulating the setting sun. It is a rare peony. Its elegant, lotus-shaped flowers are lightly fragrant. The flowers, approximately 15 cm in diameter, feature cascading petals with a silky, pleated texture. The most striking characteristic of the Coral Sunset Peony is its dramatic color shift from orange to yellow throughout bloom, imbuing it with poetic beauty. This exceptional quality earned it the American Peony Society (APS) Gold Medal in 2003. The Coral Sunset Peony boasts an upright flower head with broad, uniform petals. The outer petals are nearly rounded with slightly curled edges. The petals gradually decrease in size and are arranged in an orderly pattern from the outermost to the innermost part. The stamens are well-developed, with numerous anthers and deep yellow filaments. Only a few stamens are petalized. The pistil is clearly visible, with four carpels and a yellow-green stigma remaining. The stigma matches the petals.
